      Preschool/Kindergarten:  Treasure Hunting

The theme of treasure hunting is a concrete way to involve children in the excitement of the search for the meaning of life.

Grades 1-2:  Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education

The 1st and 2nd graders enrolled in this lifespan sexuality education program celebrate the diversity of families as they learn about anatomy, conception and adoption, and the worth and dignity of every person.

February 28 – Parent/Child Orientation – 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

March 7 – Social Action Sunday

March 14 – Our Wonderful Bodies, Session One

March 21 – Our Wonderful Bodies, Session Two

March 28 – Healthy Bodies, Safe Bodies            

  
 Grades 3-4Holidays and Holydays

Children learn about the world’s faith traditions as they celebrate holidays and holy days from around the world.

February 28 – Pawamu, Hopi Bean Planting Ceremony

 

March 7 –  Social Action Sunday

March 14 –  St. Patrick’s Day

March 21 – No Ruz (Iranian New Year)

March 28 – Henry Burgh (Unitarian Founder of the American Anti-Cruelty Society)  Day

 

Grades 5-6: Amazing Grace

Children learn about right and wrong and contemplate ethical conundrums.

February 28 – Human and Devine

March 7 – Social Action Sunday

March 14 – Human and Devine, cont.

March 21 – Bad Guys, Good Guys

March 28 – “Doing” Your Good Side

 
 

Grades 7-8:  Neighboring Faiths

Students learn about other faith traditions, visit other churches and temples, and examine others’ beliefs as they clarify their own beliefs, values and religious identity. 

March 21 – Middle school will attend the Sunday Service, Dreams of Hope.

 


Grades 9-12: Youth Group

Youth are examining their own beliefs and hearing the beliefs of others.  Frequent activities include journal writing and watching movie clips.  The youth so enjoy their time together on Sunday mornings they have elected to extend their time to a 12:15 dismissal.

March 21 – Youth Group will attend the Sunday Service, Dreams of Hope
