Adult Religious Education - Chair Beth Dutton

The Adult Religious Education Team (ARET) exists to help fulfill the Church’s mission to support lifelong learning and personal and spiritual growth. Specifically, the ARET—
  • Provides educational experiences to help adults fulfill their potential to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually
Building and Grounds - Chair Craig Thompson

The Building and Grounds Team (B&GT) exists to oversee the maintenance, repair, cleaning, improvement, and operations of Church buildings and grounds.


Children and Youth Religious Education - Chair Amy Wilks

The Children and Youth Religious Education (C&YRE) Team shares primary responsibility for the administration, planning, quality, and success of the UUCNH’s children’s and youth’s religious education program. The C&YRE program seeks to provide a welcoming and safe environment in which the children and youth (through high school level) can develop a religious identity while gaining an enriching and diverse religious education consistent with the UUA principles and the desires, resources and needs of the congregation. The C&YRE program is one of the central means by which the Church interprets and promotes its liberal philosophy of religion.


Caring

The Caring Team supports our mission to be a loving community by--
  • Facilitating and fostering a caring atmosphere among all friends and members
  • Helping our community share times of joy

Choir - Music - Co-Chairs Mary Doubleday, Janine Brobst

To create a music program for the life of the Church. The following quote from the UU Musicians Network illuminates this objective, “To reveal and celebrate that breadth and wealth of the world's music which expresses and embodies the values of Unitarian Universalism.” The primary emphasis is to provide music for Sunday Services but music will be also be made available for other Church functions depending on the availability of resources.


Facilities Planning - Chair Dori Depp and Facilities Use - Chair Carol Balance

The Facilities Use Committee exists to make Church facilities available to members, friends, and the community-at-large for suitable events/activities at reasonable rates according to the terms of the UUCNH Facilities Usage Policy. The goal is to maximize facility use and rental income without adversely impacting Church programming.

Finance Team - Chair John Brobst

The Finance Team helps the Church to be financially viable and responsible by:

  • Preparing a proposed Operating Budget
  • Monitoring Church income and expenses during the fiscal year
  • Advising the Board on matters relating to the Operating Budget and financial issues confronting the Church
  • Assuring that the financial statements are accurate on an ongoing basis
Membership - Co-Chairs Kathy Ke and Kathy Miller

The Membership Team exists to help realize our mission to grow Unitarian Universalism by –
  • Attracting, assimilating, and retaining new members
Publicity - Chair Fred Geiger

The Publicity Team works to increase the Church’s visibility to the external community.      
            

Memorial Garden - Chair Craig Thompson

Responsible for coordinating memorials in accordance with the Board approved use of the memorial garden and the associated plaques.    

Nominating                                                                
                                                       
The Nominating Committee is created under Article IV of the By-Laws. Its duties, as stated in Section 1, shall include, but might not be limited to, the following:
  • Nominate Board Members
  • Nominate members for the Committee on Ministry
  • Nominate Nominating Committee members
Social Action -  Chair Melinda Geiger                                                
                                                              
The Social Action Team (SAT) exists to—
  • Promote awareness of social action issues
  • Encourage activities supporting social activism
As such,  SAT serves two functions:
  • An umbrella organization, facilitating the social activism of individuals within the Church who wish to involve the congregation in specific projects—e.g., recycling, supporting food banks, equal exchange coffee. Such individuals may or may not be members of SAT itself; may attend meetings to share and network, but need not feel obligated to do so.
Stewardship - Chair Susie Wood
                     
The Stewardship Team exists to help the Church sustain and grow pledge income and planned giving.


Sunday Services - Co-Chairs Paul and Susan Cox

The Sunday Services Team has primary responsibility for:

  • Providing high-quality services on Sundays when the minister is not responsible for the service—i.e., one Sunday per month from September through June, Sundays when the Minister is on vacation or study leave, and Sundays when the minister is ill or otherwise unable to conduct the Sunday service
  • Developing policies regarding Sunday services-- such as service time and the handling of announcements and joys and concerns
In fulfilling its purpose, the SST strives for excellence; to give expression to the variety of beliefs, spiritual types, and preferred worship styles of congregants; to involve the congregation in evaluating services presented by the SST; and to enlarge the pool of congregants competent to create and lead quality Sunday services.
